Hamilton hairdressers to sponsor Commonwealth athlete

It’s an ethical match for Hamilton hairdressers The Engine Room and New Zealand Commonwealth hopeful Camille Buscomb as they join forces in a new sponsorship deal.

Hamilton hairdressers The Engine Room are a new sponsor of Hamilton athlete Camille Buscomb.

From Hamilton, Camille Buscomb is New Zealand’s leading female middle-distance athlete.

She is the current champion 3000m title holder in New Zealand and is second currently over 1500 metres.

The Engine Room in Hamilton has become known for their ethical stance in regards to their use of natural, organic products and eco-friendly practices.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to be associated with the Engine Room through this sponsorship,” says Camille.

“Camille is a perfect fit for us, we are really excited to work with her.” says Kaleb Phillippe, owner of The Engine Room.

The sponsorship deal was facilitated by Camille’s promoter Media PA who also promote New Zealand’s premier dance group, J Geeks.

“We have been looking for unique ways to give back to the community. Camille’s attitude towards using natural, organic and eco-friendly products matches our philosophy here. She is the perfect advocate for the Engine Room,” says Kaleb Phillippe.

“As an athlete I am very aware of what products I use. The Engine Room are the first hairdressers I have known to use natural and eco-friendly products. Their stance with using eco-friendly products matches my personal ethos,” says Camille.

“At The Engine Room, they really care about you as individual. If you are looking good, you feel good. It gives me a boost when I am competing. I happy to recommend The Engine Room to anyone,” says Camille.

Recent training has been going well for Camille Buscomb towards her next major focus which is competing at the National Road Champs on August 31 in Dunedin. You can keep up with Camille’s progress by visiting her Facebook page,

Phillip Quay, managing director of MediaPA, said he was delighted that The Engine Room had become a sponsor of Camille Buscomb.

“We are pleased that another business has embraced the concept of social giving which we are actively promoting in New Zealand,” Quay said.
