Mojo Coffee launch Neonatal Trust’s annual phone collection

Mojo Coffee launch Neonatal Trust’s annual phone collection

Lovers of flat whites have another reason to pop into Mojo Coffee with today’s launch of their “Old Phones Helping New Lives” campaign for the Neonatal Trust. The Neonatal Trust, which supports families of premature or sick full term babies, will receive all profits from this campaign – every phone donated goes towards helping them deliver their essential services and support.

Mojo Managing Director Steve Gianoutsos said that throughout August, customers can bring their old mobile phones into any Mojo store nationwide and they will send it off for recycling. To say thanks, Mojo will shout a coffee for every phone received.

“We’re thrilled to be supporting such a great cause. All donated phones will be sent to Fone Fund in Australia who will dismantle the phones and recycle the usable parts, which also helps reduce the amount of electronic waste through recycling,” Mr Gianoutsos said.

Established in 1986, the Neonatal trust provides supports families of premature or sick full term babies as they make their journey through Neonatal Intensive Care, the transition home, and onwards. With one in six births requiring neonatal intervention, the neonatal trust provides support by:
• helping parents who have had a baby in a neonatal unit, in whatever way they can, to get through what is a very traumatic time;
• helping Neonatal Care Units purchase or contributing to the cost of equipment and funding for staff to attend neonatal educational seminars or other professional development courses;
• aiding neonatal-related medical research.

Michael Meads, CEO of The Neonatal Trust, said “this is another example of Mojo assisting The Neonatal Trust. They’ve been great supporters of the Trust for some years now, and we really do appreciate their on-going support with our fundraising”.

Collection points will be available at all Mojo stores nationwide, The Roxy Cinema in Miramar, Wellington, all Jeff Gray BMW dealerships between now and August 31st 2013. For each phone donated, Mojo shout a coffee via a voucher which can be redeemed at a later date in any Mojo store and at The Roxy Cinema.

The Neonatal Trusts do not receive any Government funding and are entirely reliant on the generosity from individuals, companies and organisations in the form of donations, grants, sponsorship and fundraising events.
