DesignA Ltd: 1000th Component Sale to US Aviation Business

Despite the global economic slow-down, DesignA Electronics in Christchurch, New Zealand (www.designa-electronics.com) bucked the trend with the sale of it’s 1000th Snapper board component to the niche US aviation market.

Over the past 2.5 years, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, have installed multiple units on their advanced technology latest aircraft G280, G650 and G550 Elite.

“The units provide the critical link between the customers smart phone or tablet to the class leading Gulfstream Cabin Management Control System,” said Colin Hogg, General Manager, DesignA Electronics Ltd.

Each controller has a DesignA Snapper single board level computer module installed and is rigorously stress-tested to meet the highest standards in reliability and performance of the aviation sector.

“These Snapper-based modules, comprise a range of extremely powerful and reliable ARM embedded single board computer components, designed to be compact, with fast execution speeds and low power usage.”

“Sales look set to keep on track and potentially increase with the global business and private jet market showing no sign of wavering, and Gulfstream continue to grow their market presence in the global business jet market,” Mr Hogg said.
