Launch of InsureYou delivers NZ-first for life insurance industry

New Zealand-owned life insurance company, Fidelity Life, is celebrating a first for the life insurance industry with the launch of InsureYou – an innovative new service delivering a one stop online insurance shop.

Unique from other online insurance offerings, InsureYou is underpinned by professional advice from a qualified adviser.

Fidelity Life Chief Executive Milton Jennings says that direct-to-consumer online insurance sites have grown substantially in recent years and InsureYou now offers the next evolution in online insurance purchasing for New Zealanders.

“The online/direct insurance market is the fastest growing insurance market globally. Experience shows that many New Zealanders like the security of having professional advice to call on when purchasing insurance – that’s where InsureYou delivers,” says Mr Jennings.

“Compared to other nations, New Zealanders are typically underinsured. People opt out of the online purchasing process because it can be isolated without having the backup of personal advice. It’s at the times of claims during serious illness or major trauma events that people see the value in having a personal adviser. InsureYou delivers on both fronts – online convenience backed up by personal support.

“For clients themselves, InsureYou will change the way they think about insurance – no paper, no signature and no hassle, and the ability to engage an adviser if required.”

InsureYou also delivers a unique opportunity for insurance advisers to extend their traditional business into the growing online space, allowing them to offer clients the convenience of online purchasing of life, trauma, and mortgage insurance via their own website.

“Advisers offering the InsureYou service can grow their business offering while providing clients with a new level of efficiency when considering insurance decisions. Advisers can capture all clients’ insurance needs with just one click. Ultimately InsureYou combines the best of the online and adviser worlds and connects the two,” says Mr Jennings.

The efficiency of InsureYou is supported by the promise of ‘life insurance in less than eight minutes’ for applicants falling within the underwriting criteria. Policy documentation can be delivered to the client’s inbox within the eight minute threshold if accepted online.

Mr Jennings says the launch of InsureYou signals another exciting milestone for the greater industry.

“InsureYou delivers a new level of service for Kiwi consumers with personal service and online convenience. We’re proud to back this industry-leading e-solution which we’re confident will enhance the way Kiwis buy insurance.”
