New ANZ Bethlehem in prime location for customers

ANZ today celebrated the opening of its brand new branch at 19 Bethlehem Road, the eighth ANZ branch in Tauranga city.

The branch was declared open by Tauranga Deputy Mayor Kelvin Clout at a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning. Students from the Te Wharekura o Mauao, Bethlehem performed a welcome haka and a blessing of the branch was performed.

Fred Ohlsson, ANZ’s Managing Director, Retail and Business Banking, said the new branch was a vote of confidence in the future of Tauranga and would offer customers more choice on where to do their banking.

“Tauranga is one of the fastest growing cities in New Zealand and has established itself as one of the country’s main centres for business, international trade and culture. It’s also a fantastic place to live,” Mr Ohlsson said.

“ANZ Bethlehem marks a significant addition to the branch network in Tauranga, showing how we’re meeting the growing demands of the rapidly growing population in the area.”

Taking proud residency in the prime location of Bethlehem Town Centre, ANZ Bethlehem will have a specific focus on home loans, with an experienced local team of Senior Personal Bankers, lending specialists and Business Banking managers onsite, all of whom are actively building relationships with customers and partners in the community.

The branch will also be home to a 24/7 Smart ATM - accepting deposits and cheques as well as all the normal ATM functions.

Karen Smith, Branch Manager, is delighted with the new branch and says she and the team are looking forward to meeting new customers in the area and helping them with saving for their first home right through to buying their dream home.

“Staff from across our Tauranga branches will move into ANZ Bethlehem so customers will see the same familiar faces and get the same local expert service they have come to expect at any of our branches in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.”

The branch will be open six days a week, Monday - Saturday 9.00am – 4.30pm.

The newly refurbished ANZ Grey Street has also been rebranded as ANZ Tauranga.
