Northpower – Easter storm ... Update 5

Northpower – Easter storm ... Update 5

17 April, 2014

Northpower has restored power to thousands of customers impacted by today’s storm.

Only 184 of Northpower’s 55,000 customers remain without power.

All power restoration should be completed by Friday afternoon but customers are encouraged to report faults on 0800-10-40-40. Those will without power and awaiting restoration can expect a call-back from Northpower in the next 24 hours.

Northpower Chief Executive Mark Gatland has praised staff for their efforts in safely restoring power in adverse weather conditions and the public for their patience.

“It has been a busy day for them and they have done a great job repairing some major outages,” says Mr Gatland.

People making their way to Northland for the Easter Weekend are encouraged to ensure they have torches and a gas bottle for BBQ meals – in case power is out at their destination.
