MYOB releases first mobile application for mid-sized firms

MYOB releases first mobile application for mid-sized businesses

Ideal tool for a sales force that’s ‘OnTheGo’

MYOB today launched its first enterprise mobile business application, MYOB EXO OnTheGo, to provide clients’ sales staff with the information they need, when they need it – supporting great customer service.

The latest innovation from MYOB – New Zealand’s leading accounting software provider - the app allows staff to securely access the on-premise EXO Business suite from wherever they are. This enables them to better manage the entire quote and order process, as well as debt collection and general account management, via ‘mobile moments’. MYOB EXO Business is a comprehensive management system for growing and mid-sized businesses.

General Manager, Enterprise Division, Andrew Birch says the release of OnTheGo is part of the ongoing development of MYOB’s extremely successful mid-sized business product suite – EXO Business.

“EXO OnTheGo offers enterprise businesses greater functionality when working anywhere at any time. It has been designed specifically to meet the needs of businesses with salespeople or account managers who are working in the field.”

About the app

The MYOB EXO OnTheGo app empowers sales teams to quickly make and convey key decisions, optimising the order process and letting them focus on selling.

“Ultimately, it will significantly improve customer satisfaction with the speed and efficiency with which suppliers can service them, which helps ensure these enterprises are as competitive as possible. Customers will receive their orders more quickly with less room for error. And with access to real time information, their suppliers can commit to delivery times.”

Mr Birch says the market is increasingly demanding mobile access to ERP systems for querying, order fulfilment and reporting, “By offering our own mobile solution, developed specifically for MYOB EXO Business, clients will have a single partner providing their entire ERP system – no more having to work with multiple vendors and run the risk of poor integration or communication between them.”

EXO OnTheGo is a user-friendly app that is simple to download and set up. Data is safe and secure, with a password login and encrypted communication with the EXO Business system.

Once set up, it offers a complete end-to-end order entry process on the go. Sales staff can create customers and contacts, enter and amend orders, even view inventory and item status in real time – all at the client’s door.

Account managers can also keep on top of debt management, with features enabling them to view customer balances and outstanding invoices, as well as access invoice information and update notes about the customer.

Development roadmap

Mr Birch says the new innovation is another big step in the MYOB EXO Business system journey, “Applications like OnTheGo are just part of the picture, as we continue to invest in the ongoing development of EXO Business.”

The app utilises the new MYOB EXO API, released in November 2013, enabling third party developers in MYOB’s ecosystem to easily integrate anywhere, anytime applications with MYOB EXO Business.

MYOB EXO OnTheGo trial version is available to download now for iPad (iOS 7 and above) from the Apple App Store and is compatible with MYOB EXO Business version 8.3 or higher. Prospective clients can download the trial version on the Apple app store and contact an MYOB Enterprise Partner for the full version. Current clients can contact their MYOB Enterprise partner for the full version.
