Waikato-based PR firm HMC Communications team grows

Hamilton public relations consultancy HMC Communications is continuing to grow with the appointment of a new senior account manager to its team, allowing the company to provide an expanded range of communications services to Waikato businesses.

New senior account manager, Charlotte FitzPatrick, was appointed to the team in June. She has over seven years’ experience working as a communications and public relations practitioner and has most recently been working in health and education sectors.

Charlotte has worked in complex business environments and has set up communications and marketing strategies for a broad range of entities and projects.

Her experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, campaign development, media relations, community relations, internal communication and event management will be put to good use at HMC, and she is excited to help her clients successfully engage with their customers.

HMC Communications has worked with small to medium-sized companies for well over 10 years throughout the Central North Island. Its clients operate in a range of sectors including dairy, aviation, energy and not-for-profits.

Director Heather Claycomb said the expansion of the firm is the direct result of businesses recognising the importance of having effective communication and public relations strategies to reach and engage with their audiences.

“We’ve definitely seen more businesses investing in public relations over the past couple of years as they see the value it brings in building the reputation of their organisation or brand,” said Mrs Claycomb.

“More than ever before, the way people receive information is incredibly fragmented, so our clients leverage off our existing relationships with the media as well as our expansive business and community networks,

“Charlotte’s role is working in our team to help clients build relationships through effective communications. Our priority is doing everything we can on the communications front to help our clients achieve their business goals.”

Charlotte joins director Heather Claycomb and communications coordinator Bethany Pawson who collectively have over 25 years’ experience in communications and public relations.
