Finalists Announced for Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards 2014

The finalists in the 2014 Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards recognising achievement in the New Zealand energy sector were announced today.

The awards, now in their fifth year, are being held in Auckland at the Langham Hotel on August 13 to recognise achievement and excellence in the New Zealand energy sector.

Chairman of the Judging Panel, Richard Westlake, says that the calibre of entries was extremely high and the finalist selection process had been a tough one; in two of the categories the judges named four finalists.

"Following a rigorous judging process we are delighted to announce the finalists and wish them well on the night," he says. "The judging panel was impressed by the depth and quality of the entries and our task certainly hasn't been easy. Some of the entries this year were the best the panel has seen."

Deloitte partner and energy leader Scott McClay says the sector plays a crucial role in the economy and continues to adapt and change to support the standard of living we have come to enjoy in this country.

McClay says Deloitte, as principal sponsor of the awards, is proud to be involved with recognising the people and businesses in a sector that has the potential to deliver major social and economic benefits through technological change. “We are delighted to have this role in supporting recognition of excellence in the sector and congratulate all the finalists announced today”, he says. “Their efforts are collectively helping to build a better and more prosperous New Zealand.”
