Advanced Security Group acquires South Island company

Advanced Security Group continues to increase its geographical footprint in New Zealand with the announcement that it has acquired South Island company, Struthers Electronics & Security Limited. “This is an exciting move for us, the Struthers business is a natural fit with our business, and it is great to formally establish ourselves in the Canterbury region,” says CEO, Mike Marr.

Advanced Security is one of New Zealand’s largest dedicated corporate and industrial electronic security companies, with many high-profile corporate and government clients. With a strong presence in the North Island, this acquisition allows Advanced Security to strengthen its operations in the South Island and takes total branches to twelve. “With Advanced Security servicing New Zealand’s most important organisations we must be located where these customers are and we will continue to establish new branches around New Zealand, “says Mike.

Graeme Hansen, Chairman of parent group TPT Group, is delighted with the acquisition, “By positioning Advanced Security strategically, Mike has lead the company from strength to strength. Not only are we growing, but we are being recognised as being at the top of our industry with recent awards from Milestone, Gallagher, Axis and the AUT Business School - Excellence in Business Support Awards”.

Graeme added, "We were all tremendously pleased for Mike personally when he was announced as a finalist in this year's EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. This was fitting recognition of Mike's outstanding leadership of the Group and his continuing contribution to the wider business environment."

Struthers has been working with clients in Canterbury and the wider South Island since 1993. Staff will remain with the company as it is incorporated into Advanced Security this month.
