New Appointment – Corporate lawyer Jane Parker joins Minter Ellison Rudd Watts partnership

Top tier law firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts is pleased to announce the lateral hire of Corporate and Commercial lawyer, Jane Parker. Jane will become a member of the partnership once the New Zealand Law Society requirements have been met.

Jane strengthens the firm’s Wellington Corporate and Projects team. Her experience has a particular focus on commercial contracts, technology, aviation, outsourcing, public sector procurement and energy. Previously Jane worked in London for four years, involved in high value corporate projects for big names like Barclays Bank and now brings to the firm her international best practice experience. After returning home to New Zealand in 2003, Jane joined another leading law firm where she has been a Senior Associate for the past eight years.

Jane can draw on her commercial experience having worked in-house in the energy, financial services, e-commerce and luxury goods sectors. She has also advised public sector organisations extensively. Jane leads projects, drafts and negotiates agreements and provides strategic, proactive advice.

Jane commented that: “I’m excited to be taking the next step in my career and look forward to the opportunities that will come from joining a formidable corporate team such as Minter Ellison Rudd Watts’. The firm also has a very strong public and technology sector practice which I have particular experience in and look forward to working with the firm’s clients in these areas.”

In announcing the appointment Cathy Quinn, Chair, said: “The firm believes strongly in investing in the best talent in the market, and Jane certainly ticks that box. Her international and commercial experience is a great fit with the firm’s culture and our client’s needs. We welcome Jane to the partnership.”
