Tauranga Brand Strategist selected to join the world’s best in LA


Tauranga-based Creative Director, Reuben Woods from Woods – The Creative Agency, has been selected to take part in an intensive three day Los Angeles workshop with Marty Neumeier, one of the world’s leading authorities on branding.

Woods will be the sole New Zealand representative at The ZAG workshop in Santa Barbara, where 20 branding professionals chosen by Marty Neumeier from across the globe will gather for three days to learn the renowned ‘Zag’ brand strategy process, apply it to their own businesses while there, and take it back to implement with their clients.

This trip will be particularly memorable for Woods, who has been a long-time follower of the American strategist. “This is a huge opportunity for me personally, but also for our business. I have followed Marty for many years and have built some of our brand strategy process from the skills I have learnt through his books.”

Neumeier has penned five best-selling books throughout a decorated career, including The Brand Gap, The 46 Rules of Genius, and Zag – which will be the focus of the workshop. He is currently the director of Liquid Agency, a San Francisco-based brand experience agency working with some of the most recognisable brands in Silicon Valley and the world.

Woods will be documenting his journey via Woods – The Creative Agency’s Facebook page (facebook.com/woodstca) and plans to hold workshops to share what he has learnt with other Bay businesses upon his return.

“To further learn his world-leading brand strategy process and to be able to bring this back home is amazing. To then start applying this knowledge to our already successful brand process will be a major benefit to businesses in the Bay of Plenty and New Zealand who need to have compelling, world-class brand strategy,” adds Woods.
