Businesses benefit from real-time advisory

Kiwi business owners are reaping the rewards of real-time number-crunching with their expert advisers using Xero add-on CrunchBoards, says BDO.

In March, BDO as the biggest user of Xero in New Zealand launched a national roll out of the new real-time business planning tool across its 15 regional offices.

Xero CEO Rod Drury says “It's exciting to see BDO continue to drive innovation using the Xero platform and our ecosystem partner, CrunchBoards, to deliver the next generation of advisory services to small businesses in New Zealand."

And CrunchBoards is proving to be a game changer for business owners says BDO Advisory Head Adam Davy.

“They are getting excited about tasks like budgets, month-end results, income forecasts. Even compliance is becoming less of a concern,” says Davy.

“For some business owners, the experience of getting online with us with CrunchBoards is a revelation.

“In a matter of minutes we can show them exactly how they are performing now and also modelling future scenarios to help them reach their goals. And this is all without working offline, risking data errors or struggling to navigate the information.”

CrunchBoards is also proving its value in the boardroom, giving directors seamless and instant access to relevant and critical data without the need to produce technical and expensive dashboards - which soon become redundant and have limited uses.

“Too often decision-makers are working on a best-guess basis due to lack of relevant data or even worse a sea of complex data.

“CrunchBoards gives decision-makers seamless and meaningful budgets with multiple scenarios, the ability to analyse data live at the table and be made aware of trends and KPIs immediately.

“That means they’re deciding where too next, not where we have just been.”

BDO is running a free seminar on CrunchBoards in Wellington on May 6 with presentations by Rod Drury and CrunchBoards co-founder Amy Harris from the UK.
