Ryman wins most trusted accolade for second year

Ryman wins most trusted accolade for second year

Ryman Healthcare has been named the most trusted brand in the aged care and retirement village industry in New Zealand for the second year in a row.

Ryman won the aged care and retirement villages category in the 2015 Most Trusted Brands awards in Auckland.

The Reader’s Digest survey has been run for 14 years, and it is the second year the retirement industry has been included.

Reader’s Digest commissioned Catalyst Marketing & Research to survey more than 1200 Kiwis on which products they used and which held their trust across 41 categories.

In a sample of comments by respondents, Ryman was described as a large, New Zealand-owned and well-run company which was rated very highly for its service and comfort.

New Zealand Reader’s Digest editor in chief Sue Carney said it was the brands that continued to offer quality and substance that held consumers’ trust.

Sue Carney says brands that feature highly have won the “crucial battle” – sometimes across generations – to build a name and a product people believe in.
“Many purchases are made with the heart and, even in this digital age, it’s the brands which continue to offer quality and substance that hold our trust.”

To win the ensuring trust of customers, brands had to create a strong emotional connection with the consumer. They had to consistently deliver high standards in terms of quality over the long term, and have integrity and stand out from the competition.

Trusted brands like Ryman also had to have integrity as a core quality.

Ryman Healthcare managing director Simon Challies said it was great to win for a second year and the award recognised a huge amount of hard work by Ryman’s 4,000 staff.

“We’re really pleased because we work really hard to earn and keep the trust of our residents and their families.’’

“We work in an industry based on trust. There has to be a high degree of trust between our staff, our residents and their families. We wouldn’t be a success if we hadn’t earned that trust. That makes this award a great accolade for our staff.’’
