Office expansion set to strengthen SGS operation

Office expansion set to strengthen SGS operation

Leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, SGS, is cementing its commitment to customers and employees by expanding its Auckland business operations from one to two sites.

As part of the company’s plans to further enhance operations, it is set to move from its current Auckland home (17-19 Maurice Road in Penrose) to two new facilities.

As of 6th November 2015, the company’s Corporate / Shared Services (Head Office, including Finance and Human Resources), along with its Systems & Services Certifications (S&SC), Industrial Regulatory and Agricultural Food & Field businesses, will relocate to a modern, re-modelled premise in Rockridge Avenue, Penrose.

In recognition of the specific needs of its specialist services, the company’s Agricultural testing Laboratory, along with its Industrial Materials and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)business, will relocate to a separate premise in Mount Wellington, Auckland as of 31st December 2015. The facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment and workshop facilities.

SGS Managing Director, Peter Hart, says the relocation and premise expansion marks an exciting new chapter for SGS in Auckland.

“We recognise the differing needs of our corporate departments and distinct business units, and believe expanding to two individual sites will enable us to better serve existing and new customers, while ensuring we continue to deliver the highest possible standards in the areas of testing, verification, inspection and certification,” says Mr Hart.

“We will be working hard with existing customers to minimise disruption and maintain ‘business as usual’ during the relocation phase,” adds Mr Hart.

Both sites will be fully operational by January 2016. SGS employs 90 staff in Auckland, and approximately 800 people throughout the country.
