Air NZ’s new campaign calls for Kiwis who aspire to fly

Air New Zealand’s new campaign calls for Kiwis who aspire to fly

Air New Zealand has unveiled a new online campaign to recruit talented people as its future flight attendants.

#AspireToFly is part of Air New Zealand’s ‘Where to next?’ brand campaign and is a recruitment drive by the airline on both sides of the Tasman to attract applications for flight attendant positions.

The airline has grown its number of flight attendants from around 1,400 in 2012 to around 2,200 today as it expands to cater for new routes and capacity across the network.

Air New Zealand receives more than 5,000 applications for its flight attendant positions every year and Air New Zealand’s General Manager Cabin Crew Leeanne Langridge says it takes a very special person to don the uniform and represent the airline and New Zealand.

“At Air New Zealand we’re always asking “Where to next?” It’s an expression of who we are, what we think, what we do, how we do it and how we say it.

“This means we never stop pushing ourselves to find passionate, proud and dedicated flight attendants who represent our brand values, and go beyond to make a difference in our customers’ journey. It’s really about finding the people who can form that special connection with our customers to enhance the customer experience.

“The launch of #AspireToFly gives a real glimpse into what it takes to be an Air New Zealand flight attendant and hopefully will encourage some people to apply who may not have previously thought about a career in flying.”

The cornerstone of the campaign is a three minute video which showcases flight attendants in their work and travel and provides helpful tips and tricks for aspiring flight attendants. The video will run online across Air New Zealand’s social media channels and directs viewers to aspiretofly.co.nz to find out more.

Since September 2014, the airline has received almost 7,000 applications which have resulted in almost 400 job offers.
