Adulttoymegastore announced as a ‘Top Shop’

Adulttoymegastore announced as a ‘Top Shop’ at Retail NZ awards

New Zealand online adult toy and lingerie retailer, Adulttoymegastore, is officially a “Top Shop” after being announced as a national runner-up at the Retail NZ Top Shop Awards last night.

The New Zealand Top Shop Awards evening took place on 7 September 2017 at the Sky City Convention centre in Auckland, where Adulttoymegastore was revealed as the runner-up for the Pureplay E-Tailer Award, an award category for “purely online” retail businesses.

Run by Retail NZ, the Top Shop Awards is an annual event that recognises “outstanding retail businesses” in New Zealand. A total of 600 New Zealand businesses applied for the Retail NZ Top Shop Awards this year, of which 100 were finalists, and only 10 were winners.

Adulttoymegastore was the only adult retailer in the running for the Top Shop Awards this year, and marketing executive, Emma Hewitt, says the retailer’s win proves that it’s not about what you sell; it’s about how you retail.

“Being the only adult toy retailer finalists, Adulttoymegastore definitely stood out from the rest! But it’s not about what you sell, it’s about how you go about it, and Adulttoymegastore is customer-focused, innovative and passionate about ensuing our customers have the best possible experience when they’re shopping with us, which is part of what makes us a top shop!” Emma explains.

“We’re so stoked that we came second – it’s such a testament to what we have achieved as a team and how hard we have worked to become the top adult toy shop in New Zealand! We got a really huge cheering applause when we were announced as runner-up, which was awesome!”

Adulttoymegastore was a finalist for the Innovation Award, Pureplay E-tailer Award and the People’s Choice Award.

“We have had an overwhelming amount of support from our amazing customers during the Top Shop nominations. Being a finalist for the People’s Choice Award shows how much our customers love us!” says Emma.

“Our customers always give us wonderful feedback and since we’re an online retailer we don’t get to have that face-to-face interaction, so it’s great to have had their support and encouragement throughout this process and it proves that you can still provide fantastic customer service and have a loyal customer base while being an online retailer.”

Emma says Adulttoymegastore is a leading adult toy and lingerie retailer in New Zealand and Australia and has big plans for the future, including expanding their reach on an international level.

“We’re based in Wellington, which is where we started out nine years ago, and we’ve grown a lot since then! We recently purchased a warehouse in Grenada North which we can proudly say is the biggest sex toy warehouse in New Zealand, and possibly Australia,” says Emma.

“We currently sell our products in New Zealand and Australia, and our goal is to take Adulttoymegastore worldwide. We want to prove that a Kiwi online adult retailer can be a big player in the international market.”
