SEANZ joins call to end oil and gas exploration

Today SEANZ has joined a long list of business leaders, iwi leaders, scientists, environmentalists, actors, musicians, health professionals and others in pledging our support for the New Zealand Government to end oil and gas exploration now, as a vital step in addressing climate change.

SEANZ has been at the front of the clean energy revolution by driving the uptake of solar PV and battery storage for Kiwi households and businesses. Today we are deepening our commitment to a clean energy future by signing this Open Letter to the Prime Minister calling for an end to fossil-fuel exploration and by committing to do all we can to transition of our country’s transportation fleet to clean energy electric vehicles.

I encourage you to add your name to the open letter too - click here to add your name now.

Smart Energy technologies represent a massive opportunity for the country. Electric vehicles, solar PV, battery storage, and energy management systems can play a key role in kicking our fossil fuel habit. SEANZ is committed to backing clean energy technologies, ensuring energy democracy, and unlocking the economic benefits of energy independence for all New Zealanders.

You can read a longer piece about why we signed the Open Letter and SEANZ commitment to driving the transition from fossil fuels to all of these clean energy technologies here.

Please join me in adding your name to the open letter to the Prime Minister urging an end to fossil fuel exploration and hastening our clean energy transition.
