Double award win for Abley at international Traffic Records
Abley’s specialist strategic road safety team have won two prestigious awards at the 2018 ATSIP International Traffic Records Forum held recently in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA).
The largest conference in the world of its kind, the Traffic Records Forum brings together professionals who are involved in all aspects of collecting, managing, and using traffic records/highway safety data to help save lives.
Abley won the "Best Data Visualization" award for their work in "Proactive network analysis to improve horizontal curve safety". The second award was won for “Best Practices” for "Using spatial analysis of crash data to target road safety enforcement". Project submissions were evaluated on the ability to inform, educate and support decision-making for policy legislation.
Christopher Osbourn (ATSIP TRF Committee Chair) says “Abley should be proud to have won both awards as the votes came from their peers in transportation safety”.
Abley’s Paul Durdin (Transportation Group Manager and Director) and Carl O’Neil (Senior Transportation Engineers) both presented at the Traffic Records Forum, and were thrilled to accept the awards on behalf of the team. Paul says “We are honoured to have our expertise recognised by international road safety professionals. Our unique approach supports Vision Zero and has been tested, developed and independently validated”.
With a legacy of expertise in transportation and spatial professional services, Abley are working closely with national and international clients to facilitate proactive road safety solutions and ultimately, safer roads for all.
