Legg Mason Brandywine Global bond fund added to Aegis investment platform

Legg Mason, one of the world’s leading asset managers, has announced that its first retail fund in New Zealand - the Legg Mason Brandywine Global Opportunistic Fixed Income Fund - is now available to New Zealand investors and investment professionals via the Aegis platform.

Aegis administers over NZD$15 billion of funds under management across more than 19,000 investor portfolios. It is the investment administration service of choice for more than 90 groups of investment professionals throughout New Zealand.

The Legg Mason Brandywine Global Opportunistic Fixed Income Fund was launched in New Zealand earlier this year (March 2018) as the group’s first Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) given the substantial support and growing interest from NZ wholesale investors.

The flagship Legg Mason Brandywine Global Opportunistic Fixed Income Fund is an unconstrained, high conviction global fixed income strategy with a ‘go anywhere’ style. Brandywine Global manages more than US$75 billion from investors worldwide and more than NZD$1 billion on behalf of institutional, wholesale and retail investors in New Zealand.

Colin Taylor, Director of Sales – Australia and New Zealand, Legg Mason noted “It’s been a great six months for this PIE Fund in New Zealand since the launch. Retail investor interest has been robust and we are really pleased to be able to meet this demand via great partners like Aegis.
