The scholarship has a value of up to $10,000 and was open to all women who work in a media agency or department. Entries were judged by renowned businesswoman Theresa Gattung, TBWA\New Zealand Managing Director Catherine Harris, and NEXT Editor Rachael Russell. The judges were united in their praise of the winner.

”Jane is making waves in the innovative and exciting area of data, and we can’t wait to see where this leads her. Her entry reveals a woman who is driven, forward-thinking, and a leader in her field. This award recognises both her huge contribution and the enormous potential ahead, and we congratulate her on this success.”

An additional entry that deserved special mention was Amy Dufty’s nomination of Katherine Chin, both from Carat. “Katherine is clearly a rising star in the industry. Her ability to make a big impact in a short space of time draws high praise from colleagues and clients alike,” the judges said.

“It was encouraging to see so many applications from women who are determined to grow their skills – not just for themselves but for the teams they lead. We received entries from women with years of experience, and some who are in the early stages of their careers, but they were all united by their positivity and focus on a bright future.”

Thank you to everyone who entered the scholarship. As a magazine that has championed the success of Kiwi women for more than 25 years, NEXT looks forward to continuing to support women in this field.
