Wellington welcomes new automotive retail experience

Wellington welcomes new automotive retail experience.

Capital City Mazda in conjunction with Mazda New Zealand has opened the country’s second Mazda Connect store at the new PWC centre on Wellington’s waterfront.

The new interactive showroom space allows customers to have a richer involvement with the automotive category and signals a shift from a traditional dealership model to a more customer led experience.

Mazda Connect’s unique offering allows customers to discover the design, technology, safety and performance of Mazda’s range through an interactive digital brochure. They can journey through the brochure on the three large touch screens located around the store or transfer to a mobile device and explore the rest of the store.

Matthew Carman, Dealer Principal at Capital City Mazda, says in today's digital environment customers have already done all the research and read the reviews on-line about the vehicle they are looking to purchase and have pretty much made up their mind before they step into the showroom.

“We might discuss some options around accessories and possibly the colour choices but in most cases, they have made up their mind about this as well.”

Up to two of Mazda's latest vehicles will be on display so customers can fully experience the design science, safety features and technology built into every Mazda.

Mazda Connect will be staffed by brand ambassadors who are there to provide increased insight into the vehicles and a more personalised buying experience.

The store will not only celebrate the heritage of the Mazda brand but also inspire and engage people in design and innovation, something integral to Mazda.

Managing director of Mazda New Zealand, David Hodge, says he’s thrilled to be opening another Mazda Connect store in the capital city.

“The response to the first Mazda Connect in Silverdale in Auckland’s Rodney District has been very positive so we are thrilled to roll out the same model in Wellington in partnership with Capital City Mazda.

We believe Mazda Connect will not only provide a fantastic experience for customers, but we envisage it becoming a hub for the local business community,” says Hodge.
