Mayne Wetherell Welcomes Two New Partners In 2025
Mayne Wetherell is proud to announce the promotion of two new partners effective 1 May 2025 – Jane Innes-Jones and Cameron Reeves. The promotions recognise continued growth across our transactional practices.
Jane Innes-Jones – Finance & Restructuring:
Jane brings extensive experience representing domestic and international lenders and borrowers in a variety of finance transactions. She is well-regarded for her expertise in restructuring and insolvency matters.
Jane’s proven track record in complex transactions and leadership roles underscores her capability and dedication to excellence. Some of her notable recent transactions include structuring the secured super-senior and senior financing arrangements to support the management buy-out of NPD and her pivotal role advising the senior lenders to solarZero’s securitisation trusts following the liquidation of solarZero.
Jane's unique insight into lender credit requirements stems from her tenure as in-house counsel and then in a loan execution role at a major New Zealand trading bank. There, she was responsible for arranging and structuring loans across the bank's institutional and corporate loan book, including sustainability-linked loans. Prior to joining Mayne Wetherell, she led the bank’s syndications and agency business.
“We are delighted to welcome Jane to the partnership. Jane’s expertise in finance and restructuring law coupled with her front-line experience as a lender and agent make her an invaluable asset for the firm and our clients.” - Will Tipping, partner.
Cameron Reeves – Corporate / M&A:
Cameron has broad experience advising on a range of corporate and M&A transactions for domestic and international corporates, private equity and other financial sponsors. He has particular expertise on structured equity, debt and special situations transactions advising on preferred and other equity-linked instruments across the capital structure.
Cameron rejoined Mayne Wetherell in 2022 after four years in the Sydney offices of Gilbert + Tobin and Clifford Chance and brings a broad experience across Australasian transactions and market trends. Since his return to New Zealand, he has advised on a wide range of domestic and multi-jurisdictional transactions, with a highlight being the take-private of NZX-listed MHM Automation by a KKR portfolio company. Cameron also advises listed clients on all aspects of corporate governance and reporting with a particular focus on climate reporting processes.
As a co-lead of Mayne Wetherell’s technology and innovation team, Cameron is a driving force in our continued growth as a future-focused and technology-enabled firm. Clients value Cameron’s engagement in their business and strategic goals and his ability to be a single contact point across all aspects of a transaction.
“Cameron brings a wealth of experience and energy to the firm and our Corporate / M&A team. We are thrilled to welcome him to the partnership and look forward to continuing to work together to deliver outstanding client service and results.” Matthew Olsen, partner.
