DLA Piper Powers Up Corporate And Energy Offering With Lateral Hire Of Rob Macredie

7 May 2025 – DLA Piper is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Macredie as a partner in the firm’s Corporate team in New Zealand.

Rob brings significant experience advising clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on energy transition projects, energy M&A, commercial structuring, and major transactions. He is widely regarded as a specialist in power purchase agreements (PPAs) and has acted on some of the country’s most high-profile renewable developments, including the financing and development of New Zealand's first five solar farms and a number of significant project acquisitions.

With a strong background in corporate and commercial law, Rob advises on M&A, corporate governance, joint ventures, private capital, and capital raisings across a range of energy and related sectors. His cross-border perspective, developed while practising in Australia and the UK, complements his deep understanding of the New Zealand market and regulatory landscape.

Rob's appointment enhances the firm’s ability to support clients engaged in the development, investment and delivery of clean energy projects and infrastructure – an area of significant focus in New Zealand and globally.

“Clients have described Rob as a trusted adviser who understands the full picture — from strategic governance and capital structuring through to project and deal execution. His depth of experience across corporate, projects and complex energy matters, combined with his commercial and regulatory nous, enhances our ability to support clients at every stage of their growth and transition” said Laura Scampion, Country Managing Partner for DLA Piper in New Zealand.
