Clean Planet Celebrates Its 200-Franchisee Milestone
- Clean Planet helps 200 New Zealanders start their own business in commercial & domestic cleaning, eMowing & grounds care, and car valet services
It’s been over a decade since Clean Planet took a shining to New Zealand’s cleaning industry, stepping out in 2008 to sustainably and ethically provide greater cleaning services for the commercial sector.
Fast-forward to 2022, and today the company boasts 200 franchisees from Invercargill to Whangarei - now providing residential and commercial cleaning nationwide, and grounds care and eMowing services and car valet services Auckland-wide.
Start out how you mean to clean on
Growth has been exponential, but what hasn’t changed since its beginnings is the strong business platform on which it was built. A business model that prioritises the best service and support for its people and customers, and a strong foothold in environmentally friendly cleaning products and offerings.
“The road map for cleaning has definitely changed since we first started out,” says Tony Pattison, Chief Executive of Clean Planet. “In New Zealand, the compliance side of operating a franchise business has tightened, with the key reasons being changes to employment law and health and safety regulations. For some businesses it’s a sink or swim scenario, but for us we’ve always ensured our processes, our unique environmental position and business modelling have been carried out to the highest standards with the safest practises, enabling us to expand and thrive in a changing marketplace.
Staying true land and people
With eco-friendly and sustainable business practises, Clean Planet has successfully extended its deliverables, from a commercial cleaning provider in its early days, to a multiple life services partner 12 years later, supporting Kiwis and businesses to live and work in cleaner, healthier environments – inside, outside and on the road.
Alongside its 200-franchisee milestone, the company is also celebrating its exclusive Sensitive Choice accredited position.
“We’re New Zealand’s only Sensitive Choice approved cleaning company – with some of our cleaning product range also BioGro certified organic – and we’re linked with the Sustainable Business Network,” explains Pattison.
“For us, sustainability and quality of products, are not just a nice to have, they’re essential, and have been from the start. We are currently working towards each one of our business franchises – residential and commercial cleaning, grounds care, car valeting – achieving carbon neutrality. We engage with the latest technologies and product solutions, and are constantly reviewing our operations, processes and communications to ensure we’re delivering the best to our people and their customers.”
Providing a leading edge
The progressive and supportive network Clean Planet delivers is something Sheetal and Kritesh Kumar of Rotorua were immediately drawn to when the couple sought a business opportunity that pivoted to their lifestyle and future-forward plans.
“We chose Clean Planet because of the ease of starting our own commercial cleaning franchise. It is new in Rotorua and it’s growing fast,” says Sheetal. The couple credit the help of Master Regional Franchisee Praneel Nair and the Clean Planet Head Office to their ongoing success.
“Head Office trusted us
and helped finance our franchise. Hats off to MRF Praneel
Nair, he’s always there for us. He’s helped us establish
a customer base in Rotorua and expand to Taupo and Tokoroa
areas, guiding us throughout our journey and still
supporting us.”
For Nelson Croos, a commercial cleaning franchisee on Auckland’s Northshore and CBD, Clean Planet gifted him opportunities when he needed them most.
“Clean Planet is a reliable company to own a franchisee business and easy to communicate with the right people,” says Nelson. “If you can perform well in owning and running your business, there are plenty of opportunities to grow your business with Clean Planet”.
Clean Planet’s individual focus is what drew Puneet Sharma, a commercial cleaning franchisee in Wellington, to Clean Planet five years ago.
“They have been really good to me, helping with business support from Auckland Head Office, and providing me with good clients. They recognise the potential to grow. I have full faith and confidence in this company.”
The clean’s the limit
Achievements, success and support may abound at Clean Planet but there are plenty of clean opportunities still to be had, explains Tony.
“We’ve got a strong foundation to keep doing what we’re doing – and more. In the future we’d like to strengthen our market position even further and become New Zealand’s complete lifestyle services provider, covering all bases from window cleaning, carpet cleaning, house washing, to arborists and beyond – watch this space.”
