Nationwide Uber Driver Strike On 13 September 2025

Uber drivers across New Zealand will take part in a 24-hour nationwide strike on Saturday, 13 September 2025, beginning at 12:00 AM and lasting until 11:59 PM. The strike will be visible at major airport driver zones in Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch.

Purpose of the Strike

• Unfair pay rates that force drivers to work 60–70 hours per week just to survive.

• Unjust cleaning fee reimbursement policies.

• Excessive working hours that compromise health and safety.

• Lack of representation and transparency in Uber’s policies.

Public Safety Concern

With fewer drivers on the road, we are deeply concerned about the risk of increased drink-driving incidents. We respectfully urge New Zealand Police and road safety authorities to be aware of this risk and ensure public safety. Our action is about fairness and survival, not endangering others.

Final Note

We sincerely pray and hope that the public will stay safe during this period, and we call on Uber to address these issues urgently so drivers can return to the road with dignity and fairness.
