Mystery Multi-Millionaire In Auckland – $4.5 Million Ticket Unclaimed

Auckland is home to a brand-new multi-millionaire – but do they know they‘re holding a ticket worth $4.5 million yet?

The winning Powerball ticket was bought at Glen Innes Dairy and Lotto Outlet for the draw on Wednesday 18 February and the prize is yet to be claimed two weeks on.

“We usually hear from our Powerball winners within a few days – it’s rare they go this long before claiming,” says Will Hine, Head of Corporate Communications at Lotto NZ.

“It’s a big prize, and we want the winner to have their money as soon as possible.”

Lotto NZ says there are two possible scenarios – the winner may already know and be taking time to process the news privately before coming forward, or they may be completely unaware they’re holding a ticket worth millions.

“It’s a lot to take in, so the winner may be quietly processing the news before they get in touch,” says Hine. “But there’s every chance they haven’t checked their ticket yet and are happily going about their day, completely unaware they’re a multimillionaire.”

The mystery winner is one of 12 lottery millionaires already this year – and the first from Auckland.

“The big wins have come thick and fast, with 12 winners of a million dollars or more already this year, and lives changed all over Aotearoa,” says Hine.

Lotto NZ is encouraging players who bought a ticket from Glen Innes Dairy and Lotto Outlet in Auckland to check their tickets and get in touch if they are the winner.

“If you’re the Powerball winner we’re waiting for – give us a call so we can support you through the process.”

Elsewhere, Lotto NZ continues to seek winners in Westport, where a $500,000 prize from the draw on Saturday 1 November 2025 is outstanding, and in Thames, where a $250,000 payday awaits a player who had a ticket in the Wednesday 4 February 2026 draw.
