The Union Of Two World Leaders In Timber Preservation

Osmose Inc, the leading manufacturer and supplier of water-based industrial wood preservatives in North America, has recently announced its acquisition of the Protim Solignum group from Burmah Castrol Plc. Protim Solignum, a UK based group with operations in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Asia is a world leader in the supply of products and technology for low pressure/vacuum treatments of timber.

Ian McConnell, the CEO of Protim Solignum said "The new company will offer an expanded range of products and services encompassing high pressure treatment systems (CCA), low pressure treatment systems (Organic Solvents & Microemulsions), industrial fence panel treatments (Fentex), ancillary products for the treated timber market (water repellents, cut end coats, speciality fasteners), quality woodstains and finishes, and remedial timber and masonry treatment systems. We in Protim Solignum and our customers are delighted to be joining a company which is totally focused on the business of wood preservation".

Neil Harris, Director of International Business for Osmose said "We are proud to announce this acquisition, the next step in Osmose's strategy, which I believe signifies treaters world-wide that we intend to become the leading international manufacturer and supplier of industrial wood preservatives. The news of this strategic acquisition by Osmose has been welcomed around the world. It is a progressive step which should lead to exciting changes within the world timber preservation markets and improved commitment to the combined group's customer base.
