Simpson Meets With Global E-Comm Leaders

Gil Simpson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of enterprise software development tool vendor JADE, is today meeting with e-commerce leaders such as IBM's Lou Gerstner and America Online's Steve Case at the inaugural GBDe CEO conference in Paris.

Mr Simpson is attending the International Conference of the Global Business Dialogue on Electronic Commerce (GBDe), being held at the Louvre in Paris, as New Zealand's sole representative.

The GBDe is a grouping of the major companies involved in e-commerce worldwide and is designed to be their voice on e-commerce issues. CEOs of companies such as IBM, EDS, AOL, Nortel Networks, Hewlett Packard, Time Warner, Bertlesmann AG, Nokia, France Telecom, Fujitsu, NEC and Toshiba operate the GBDe through regional steering committees.

Today's Paris conference will look at key issues affecting e-commerce including authentication and security, consumer confidence, intellectual property rights, tax and tariffs.
