Scoop Images: Christchurch's Chalice Of Renewal

Christchurch City Council is proposing to erect a sculpture of a giant chalice in the Cathedral Square this year as part of the celebrations for the new millennium.

The artwork - like so many public art works - is loved by many and hated by others with one prominent architect recently suggesting that it reminds him of the giant carrot in Ohakune.

The following pictures are computer drawn images of what the chalice will look like once erected. You be the judge.
