Vodafone Confirms Support For Vodafone Warriors

Media Release 24 October 2000

VODAFONE CONFIRMS SUPPORT FOR VODAFONE WARRIORS

Amid speculation within the rugby league fraternity about the sponsorship of the Vodafone Warriors, Vodafone New Zealand has confirmed its continued support of the team.

"Vodafone wishes to underline our ongoing support of the Warriors under the team's new ownership and confirm our continued investment as a major sponsor," said Vodafone Managing Director, John Rohan.

The naming-rights deal, which runs until the end of October 2002, is Vodafone New Zealand's biggest sponsorship.

"The Vodafone big red hands will continue to be seen at stadiums wherever the Vodafone Warriors play as we support the team through thick and thin.

"Our philosophy is to sponsor teams and activities that capture the imagination and interest of New Zealanders and the Vodafone Warriors continue to do this," said Mr Rohan.

The Vodafone Warriors is part of a stable of sports sponsorships that includes the Silver Ferns, the Wellington Lions, Hamish Carter, Sarah Ulmer, Chris Donaldson and British Women's Open Squash champion Leilani Joyce.
