Award Winning Producer Returns To TVNZ

Award-winning producer, Carolyne Meng-Yee has been appointed as the TV ONE Assistant Commissioner. The appointment completes the TV ONE commissioning team which includes Irene Gardiner as Head of Factual and Entertainment Programmes and John McRae as Head of Drama and Comedy.

Head of Content Andrew Shaw said he was delighted that Carolyne was returning to TVNZ. She is currently Deputy Editor for one of New Zealand's biggest selling publications.

"Carolyne has a strong appreciation of the complexities of what the New Zealand viewer might want to see. She has more than 15 years experience producing a diverse portfolio of programmes from primetime game shows to premier current affairs," says Andrew.

Having completed a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University, Carolyne spent four years at Radio New Zealand writing and producing. She was then approached by Grundy Entertainment to work as Associate Producer on Sale of the Century.

During her seven years with 60 Minutes she picked up numerous awards, including Best Investigative Category at the New York Film and Television Awards and overall winner for best producer in Current Affairs at the Qantas Media Awards.

Carolyne says it was always her intention to return to television which is her first passion. "I was determined to await an opportunity to utilise my skills and fulfil a desire to have an input into ensuring home grown, quality produced television. The position of Assistant Commissioner TV ONE is the perfect realisation of that goal."

Carolyne will work alongside Irene Gardiner and John McRae to bring even more local programming to TV ONE programming mix.
