A Winning Team Is A Team Of Champions

Winners make up champion teams and Holden’s Team of Champions is made up purely of that - Winners.

Buoyed by its success over the past two seasons, with the Commodore winning a record 19 consecutive V8 Supercar round victories, Holden introduces a new Team of Champions in 2001 - a team intent on continuing the trend.

Each member of the Holden Team of Champions is a race winner in his own right, all having tasted success in various categories around the world, as well as in Australia’s own super-competitive V8 Supercar series.

Previous Team of Champion members Mark Skaife, Russell Ingall, Larry Perkins, Garth Tender and Jason Bargwanna have this year been joined in the elite group by Jason Bright and Todd Kelly.

Bright’s career is covered with glory. A 1998 FAI 1000 win at Bathurst, a Formula Holden championship, a Formula Ford title and an Indy Lights victory in the USA among his numerous wins.

At just 21-years-old, Kelly is the youngest member of the team but the former Holden Young Lion has already written his name on the short list of V8 Supercar winners, taking victory on the tough streets of Canberra last June.
