Everyone Wants To Be Carefree In Fiji!

Everyone Wants To Be Carefree In Fiji!

Auckland radio station Mai FM 88.6 has turned the tables on a traditional market through a competition which has seen both females and males buying up Carefree Tampons.

The competition in conjunction with Johnson and Johnson requires Auckland listeners to purchase Carefree Tampons and send in their till receipt to go in the draw to win an all-expenses paid trip to Fiji for 20 people.

The winner will fly out with 19 of their friends to a Fijian island resort as part of the competition which is drawn on December 2, 2002.

Mai FM has received hundreds of entries from both males and females.

National sales manager Toni Urlich says it has been weird hearing male announcers on air mentioning tampons and encouraging the audience to get out and buy Carefree Tampons at their local supermarket.

While the competition has gone off without a hitch, she says she has had some calls from parents of teenage boys checking up on entry details because their sons have been pestering them to buy Carefree Tampons.

The idea of the competition is to increase sales of Carefree Tampons and overcome the embarrassment barrier a lot of young girls and women have when it comes to that delicate time.

The competition closes on November 29 and is drawn live on Mai FM in the breakfast show on December 2.

The winner will be informed at 7.30am when Mai FM knocks on their door and announces they have won live on air.
