* Outdoor Cinema about Climate Change gets RAINED OFF! SWITCH SYSTEM - solar/wind powered cinema [Greenpeace] This free event was to open tonight in a custom made dome in Frank Kitts Amphitheatre but ironically due to unseasonably bad weather conditions it has been postponed to begin tomorrow (Wed 18, 3pm -9pm).The switch system uses renewable energy to power visuals and audio. The films show the realities of climate change, while encouraging people to take action. GOLDEN BOYS After their lead actor had to pull out 10 days before their show was to begin at BATS on Sunday, playwrite Paul Rothwell has stepped up to the role himself. Having auditioned a series of replacements it was decided that this writer and first-time actor was naturally the one person who knew the characters best - he will take to the stage for the first time on Sunday 22 Feb 6.30pm. SKIP IT Artist Regan Gentry has installed his piece 'Skip It' in a DIMAC BIN outside the Town Hall on Wakefiled St. On Monday morning he received a call to let him know the bin contained rubbish?! The bin which has been transformed into a cosy, domestic 1980s lounge, complete with swirly orange carpet, vinyl armchair, potplants.... the tv's on but no-one's home - is a commentary on the on-going fascination with redecoration and refurbishment - this bin is strangely cosy and inviting - artist will be turing on the lights a 8pn tonight- a must see.
