The programme reveals an exciting period in New Zealand's history with rare film footage and interviews with key players. Sir Edmund Hillary features in the documentary and guides viewers through his jet boating expeditions to Nepal and the Ganges.

Against the Flow: the Hamilton Jet tale was conceived and written by Producer, Paul Mullan of Black Magic Media. Mullan maintains ...it's one of the most important contributions New Zealand has ever made to the world in nautical terms from the back blocks of the Mackenzie country in the South Island to the pinnacle of the 21st Century, New York Harbour, this is Kiwi ingenuity at it's best.
