National Radio will carry a live broadcast of the inter-faith memorial service from the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Auckland from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm including one minute's silence at 1.59 pm.

Radio New Zealand International will carry the memorial service to its Pacific and Asian audiences. Radio New Zealand International broadcasts on a short wave signal that can be heard throughout the Pacific, and parts of Asia, including Indonesia.

The Radio New Zealand website will carry a link to access a live stream broadcast for internet users in New Zealand and for expatriots or those travelling overseas. www.radionz.co.nz/tsunami

Some changes will be made to scheduled programming on National Radio:
Two hours of special programming will replace scheduled programmes between 10.00 am and midday. Talking Point (BBC) looks at the long term implications of international aid to affected regions. Go Digital (BBC) looks at the tsunami and the role of the internet. Science in Action (BBC) covers the mechanics of earthquakes and Assignment (BBC) considers the impact of the disaster for Sri Lanka’s fragile political situation.

Radio New Zealand has offered a live feed of the memorial service to other broadcast media. Several independent radio stations in New Zealand have accepted the offer and will also carry the service on Sunday.
