bizgirl nominated for bloggy award
The Weblog Awards (also known as the Bloggies) are the premier online awards for the blogging community. Held annually since their conception in 2001, the awards recognise excellence in a variety of different blogging spheres, eg. technical, writing and design.
For the first time, a New Zealand blog has been named as one of the finalists for a category - the (up-to-now), Australian-dominated Australia/New Zealand section of the awards. The blog in question is bizgirl ( http://bizgirl.blogspot.com), which caused something of a media stir towards the end of 2004, when it picked up Best Personal Blog award at Netguide's annual Internet Awards night.
The awards ceremony takes place as part of the prestigious South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival - an annual event that takes place in Austin, Texas.
The winners are decided by public vote - head over to 2005.bloggies.com to view the finalists in all categories, and to cast your own vote. Voting closes at the end of January.
