Te Papa marks the Chinese New Year with Chinese New Zealanders sharing their life experiences, reflections and aspirations. This presentation focuses on those who have visited China and how that visit altered, confirmed or enriched their view of their place in New Zealand's multi ethnic society.

Waitaha Kapa Haka: Waitaha-South Island Kapa Haka Celebrates 60th Anniversary

With its geographical reach spanning most of the South Island, the event, held at the Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch, is geographically the biggest of the 12 kapa haka regions in New Zealand, and will showcase the best Māori cultural performances in the South Island. This year, the competition has the participation of 13 kapa haka teams, equalling the highest number in the event's history.
