Dance Your Socks Off At Bats Theatre

DANCE YOUR SOCKS OFF! 2005 at BATS Theatre

From 30 August to 17 September, BATS Theatre is devoted to the Dance Your Socks Off! Festival.

‘Have you filled your dance card ?’ For the first time ever, BATS Theatre will be offering a DYSO!@BATS Season Pass. This ‘dance card’ will allow the purchaser to see any four of the six DYSO! Shows at BATS for just $40 - that’s only $10 a show. Contemporary New Zealand dance has rarely been so affordable.

This is a representative overview of the cutting edge of contemporary dance in New Zealand, ranging from some of NZ’s most respected contemporary dancers – Lyne Pringle and Kilda Northcott in ‘Fishnet’ – to works by the newest professional dance companies, The Unit from Wellington in ‘Eminency’ and Chor:us from Auckland in ‘Just the Worst Time of Year for a Revolution’. There’s also aerial work in ‘Dancing Frankly’, improvised dance in ‘Dancing on Mars!!!’ and B-grade 1950s surrealist noir dance theatre in ‘The Twisted Fate of Lady Snake & Doctor Charm’.
