Call for nominations to Pacific Arts Committee
Creative New Zealand is calling for nominations for a new member from the Fijian community for appointment to its Pacific Arts Committee.
There are eight members on the Pacific Arts Committee. This includes a chairperson, who is also a member of Creative New Zealand’s Arts Board, plus representatives from each of the seven Island groups: Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga and Tuvalu.
The Committee meets up
to four times a year. Two of the meetings are project
funding meetings, where members decide on applications for
funding.
The ideal candidate should have:
- a passion and vision for the development of Pacific arts in New Zealand
- an established network in his or her community in New Zealand
- good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- skills in strategic planning and budget planning
- knowledge about the heritage and contemporary arts of New Zealand’s Pacific artists and communities.
