SOMEONE is celebrating UP THERE
Iconic kiwi gospel music label Someone Up There commemorates 21 years.
The year of our Lord two thousand and six sees Someone Up There turn 21 in classic style with a New Zealand Music Month birthday concert to be remembered.
The historic 'Tab' in Queen Street, Auckland, will accommodate over two hours of melodic retrospection on Friday 12 May. Commencing at 8:00pm, featured guests include Derek Lind, Guy Wishart, Max Jacobsen, AJ Bell, Mark Laurent and Brenda Liddiard, Jules Riding, Darlene Adair and friends. Also performing are new-arrivals Shooting Stars and Edwin Derricutt.
This evening of nostalgic variety will be hosted by Rhema Broadcasting Group's Rob Holding, and is presented in association with both New Zealand's Rhema and the Southern Star radio networks, in support of the work of Tear Fund.
Founded in 1985 by Kevin and Darlene Adair, Someone Up There is one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most enduring music labels. The label has been home to more than 25 artists with over 60 releases, six New Zealand Music Awards, an APRA Silver Scroll, plus many performances, tours and events.
Someone Up There recently joined the 'stable of labels' managed by Pure Entertainment New Zealand. The Adairs say, "We are delighted the guys at Pure have picked up the Someone Up There baton. We started this baby 21 years ago and it is rewarding to see a new chapter in its history unfolding".
