Pushing the vulgarity boundaries
Children and those of a sensitive disposition may wish to cover their ears – New Zealand's most tasteless comedians are back with a brand new show.
Winners of the NZ Comedy Guild's 'Most Offensive Gag' Award for 2005, musical duo mrs.peacock promise that their new show will push new boundaries of vulgarity.
"We're definitely trying to out-do ourselves this year," said band member Jarrod Baker. "Because our music is so hauntingly beautiful, we feel we need to be extra offensive to make up for it."
"It wouldn't be very rock and roll if we just did nice songs," added band member Dave Smith. "Though we do have some nice songs as well. You know, for the ladies."
The duo's reputation for offensiveness hasn't prevented them from achieving the acclaim of their peers.
In 2005 mrs.peacock won "Best Festival Show" at the Wellington Comedy Awards, an accolade they have now taken home 3 times.
Their new show, mrs.peacock's WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT, will feature in the 2006 ODDFELLOWS NZ International Comedy Festival, with shows in both Auckland and Wellington.
