Radio One promotes Maori Waiata

On Dunedin's Radio One Monday 26th at 11am is Te Kaik - promoting Maori waiata, te reo and panui.

The kaupapa for this particular show is taonga puoro - traditional Maori musical instruments and highlighting Maori New Celebrations. So at 11.15am a documentary of the late Hirini Melbourne will be played.

This documentary tells about his interest in taonga puoro and what he has learnt from this ancient Maori musical instruments. Te Kaik will also promote the Matariki Celebrations happening in the Octogon that night at 6pm.
