Westlake High Presnts 'Footloose'

KICK OFF YOUR SUNDAY SHOES! Westlake Boys and Girls High Schools bring ‘Footloose’ production to New Zealand

Kevin Bacon eat your heart out – sixty five Auckland high school students are set to don their Chuck Taylors and belt out a host of 80s classics from the hit movie ‘Footloose’ as they stage their own production of the Hollywood and Broadway classic.

Westlake Boys High School in Takapuna is where the curtain goes up for four nights from Monday 17th July at 7 pm. Show nights are 17th, 18th, 20th and 21st.

Westlake boys are joined by Westlake girls for this iconic 80s extravaganza, which is set to shake the Shore with all-cast group dance numbers and eight piece rock band. ‘Footloose’ jumps with spirit, dazzling dance numbers and an electrifying musical score.

‘Let’s Hear it for the Boy’ who comes to a small mid-western town where rock music and dancing have been banned. The original 1984 movie starred Brat Pack favourites Kevin Bacon, Sarah Jessica Parker and Lori Singer dancing to the beat of memorable classics such as Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Holding Out For A Hero’ and of course Kenny Loggin’s ‘Footloose’.

Described as one of the best 80's soundtracks, ‘Footloose’ is set to guarantee a toe-tapping time for the audience.

Tickets are available 9am – 1pm Thursday 13 and Friday 14 July at Westlake Boys High School reception, 30 Forrest Hill Road, Takapuna or at the door on show nights from 6pm. Ticket prices from $12 adult ($8 concessions).
