School Children Make Music with the Air Force

School Children Make Music with the Air Force

Sixteen secondary school students will take to stage next week with over 120 professional musicians from the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

The students, from around Wellington, were nominated by their schools to take part in the Air Force Proms concert at the Michael Fowler Centre on 3 September.

The students will come together with the Air Force’s massed bands the day before the concert for their first and only large scale rehearsal.

The concert, which will also feature vocalists, trash can drummers and soloists, will be hosted by Wellington radio personality Nick Tansley. Throughout the concert he will involve the audience and invite children on to the stage to conduct the band.
