Successful bidder to meet Elton John in person!

NEWS RELEASE

Visa announces the ultimate Charity Auction – successful bidder to meet Elton John in person!

Auckland, 15 November 2006 – Two New Zealand Elton John fans will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet one of music’s all time greats, through an online charity auction promoted by Visa.

The Trade Me charity auction is for the ultimate Elton John experience - something that money can buy! It opens at 5pm Wednesday November 15 and closes at 9pm on Tuesday November 21.

One hundred per cent of proceeds from the charity auction will be donated to The New Zealand AIDS Foundation, a cause Elton is passionate about.

The highest bidder will win the ultimate experience for two people – attendance at the official concert sound check, dinner and a luxury suite at the Hotel InterContinental Wellington, the opportunity to watch the show from the VIP suite, premium car transfers, signed artist merchandise plus lots more.

Elton John launched his own charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation, in 1992. This organisation was established with the objective of making emergency funds available for basic needs in areas where the epidemic has been most hard-hitting.

Visa is offering the experience in partnership with Ticketek and promoting company Capital C: Concerts, who have brought Elton’s ‘Captain And The Kid Tour’ to Wellington.

Information about the Trade Me charity auction can be found on the Visa Entertainment website www.visaentertainment.co.nz.

The Visa Entertainment programme provides Visa cardholders with VIP treatment including exclusive access to a variety of entertainment offers. The auction comes hot on the heels of an exclusive Visa Entertainment pre-sale offer for Elton John concert tickets, one of the most successful Visa Entertainment campaigns since the programme began.

Limited tickets to the concert are still available at Ticketek.

Fans missing out on this fantastic prize can still make automatic donations to the New Zealand AIDS Foundation by calling 0900 (RIBBON) 742266 – a $10 donation will be charged to the bill payers telephone account. Alternatively donations can be made online at www.nzaf.org.nz.
