Spreading Out by New Zealand’s most popular playwright, Roger Hall, revisits the characters from his hugely successful comedy Middle Age Spread.

In Spreading Out we meet the characters of Middle Age Spread 27 years on to see how life is treating them today.

Colin and Elizabeth Wilson, both now in their sixties, have retired to the Wairarapa and are living on a lifestyle block growing grapes.

Three generations of the Wilson family - daughter Jane, granddaughter Megan and son Roddy - have gathered to celebrate the New Year when they receive some unexpected guests – their old neighbours Reg and Isobel who arrive in their campervan from Queensland and who invite themselves to stay.

Hi-jinks and home truths abound as the comedy of bad manners continues with a good dose of growing old gracefully. Funny and revealing, Spreading Out makes wonderfully pointed comments on our modern day life styles creating lots of laughter from self-recognition.

Colin: Don Quiring

Elizabeth: Barbara Williams

Jane: Nicole Smith

Roddy: Josh Galuszka

Megan: Sarah Williams

Reg: Barrie Bradbury

Isobel: Jean Howell
