Lunam’s role includes oversight of the World Netball Championships Board (two from the Netball New Zealand Board, two appointed members). Lunam is now working through the final stages of appointing the General Manager for the World Netball Championships. The appointment is expected to be announced later this month.
Lunam’s corporate career includes executive roles in both New Zealand and Australia. She now runs her own strategic and management advisory business and is on the board of NZ Post Limited and a subsidiary, and is a trustee of the Pacific Business Trust.
Lunam is passionate about New Zealand’s success in sport, is a former player of Netball and Basketball, as well as a supporter of many sports.
NNZ Board Chair Don Mackinnon said we are pleased to have secured the expertise of such an experienced business and governance professional.
“Sara’s leadership at WNC 2007 Board level will be invaluable,” he said.
Lunam said she is delighted to be appointed Chair of World Netball Championships Board.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the major women’s sport in New Zealand,” she said.
