Cheapskates Skate Jam 2007
Cheapskates Skate Jam 2007
Skate Jam is back this year hitting Thompson Park on Saturday 24 March.
The day will kick off at 1pm, with the Cheapskates demo team and Eastside Snow, Surf & Skate pros showing off their moves. Then sit back and watch Soul 7 hip hop dancing and Christchurch beat boxer Tricky Trikster.
The Edge crew will be pumping up
the sounds and working the BBQ to keep you fuelled up and
ready for action. Register at the event for the skate
competition at the end of the afternoon, with free
skates and blades available for use. There will be a few
give-aways up for grabs as well.
This event is supported
by the Christchurch City Council Burwood/Pegasus Community
Board, and co-ordinated by the CCC Recreation and Sports
Unit.
Dave North, the designer of the popular Reefton
Skate Park, is working with the Council to redesign the
skate facilities at Thompson Park. He will be onsite
throughout the event and wants to talk to local skaters
about the new improvements.
Come along to Thompson Park, Marine Parade, North New Brighton and join us for an afternoon of free skating and bladeing action.
Listen to
The Edge 89.0 FM for cancellation if wet.
